bullet  Marriage Notes:

Kennerly has: "Bowers, John [to] Cloe Arnwine, March 11, 1829. B. Andrew Bowers. Bond only." Fennel & Mason records the marriage the same way, except Cloe's name is spelled Arwine. The author has xerographic copies of the bond on record -- all that remains of the official records -- and it is dated 18 Mar 1929, it appearing that 11 may have been changed to 18. Both John and Andrew gave the bond, although only Andrew seems to have made his mark. The bond spells the bride's name as Chloe Arwine.
