Martha Ann STRONG 1
Research Notes: Martha has been tentatively identified as the oldest daughter of Hiram and Rebecca Strong based on the 1840 census for Cole County, Missouri, which shows an otherwise unidentified female child in the 10-15 age range in the household of Hiram Strong. The only other known Cole County Strong family was that of Martin Strong (probably Hiram's first cousin) and Margaret Scrivner (Rebecca's sister), all of whose daughters are accounted for. Noted events in her life were: 1. Census: 1840, Cole County, Missouri. 5 Martha married James Logan SCRIVNER, son of William David SCRIVNER and Mary Elizabeth PAYNE, on 30 May 1844 in Cole County, Missouri.1 4 (James Logan SCRIVNER was born in 1823 in Cole County, Missouri 4 and died before 1880 4.) Marriage Notes: If Martha is the daughter of Hiram Strong and Rebecca Scrivner, she married her first cousin once removed, for James Logan Scrivner is the son of William David Scrivner, Rebecca's uncle. |
