Matilda Ann STRONG
(Abt 1833-Bef 1865) |
Matilda Ann STRONG 2
Research Notes: The estate administration documents for Mary Strong, Dec'd, establish that Matilda had died by the time her share of Mary's estate was available for distribution in 1870. Since only Tabitha was mentioned as her minor heir, one would presume she was the only child of John and Matilda. But, estate proceedings for John Strong, Dec'd, indicate there was a minor heir named Elizabeth Thompson. Who was Elizabeth? Since census records show only Martha as a child of Francis and Paralee Jane Thompson, it would seem Elizabeth must have been a daughter of Matilda. If so, that meant Matilda had died by 1865 and Elizabeth died between 1865 and 1870. Noted events in her life were: 1. Census: 1850, Lincoln County, Tennessee. 3 2. Census: 1860, Lincoln County, Tennessee. 6 Matilda married James L. THOMPSON on 29 Jul 1857 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.1 (James L. THOMPSON was born in 1834-1836 in Tennessee 3 6 7.) |
