1st Mrs. John King
Although I have not seen it, Peggy Hill reports that the family Bible of Preston Leslie and Cattie Lee Sanderson Terry identifies the wife of John King's first five children as _____ Cox and notes they married in Virginia. Query whether Cattie Lee, who was a grandchild of John King and his wife Elizabeth Priest, would have known the name of John's previous wife. Still, her recollection deserves respect, at least as a lead. Thus far, however, no marriage record has been found to corroborate this family Bible.

5 Family Records of Margaret Lester Hill. Margaret "Peggy" Lester Hill is a great great granddaughter of John King and his second wife, Elizabeth Priest, through their daughter, Elizabeth Carrington King Sanderson. Her mother was born in Barren County, Kentucky, so she is not far removed from her Barren County roots. She is an exceptional researcher who has lovingly preserved the history of our King family. She and her mother registered the John King Cemetery with the South Central Kentucky Historical Society. Peggy's e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org and her postal address is 489 Middle Gate, Irvington, VA 22480.
