|1st Mrs. John Strong
1st Mrs. John Strong
There is circumstantial evidence that the first wife of John Strong may have been named Elizabeth, to wit: (i) there is an otherwise unidentified Betsy Strong, who joined the Salem Baptist Church in Liberty, now DeKalb County, in 1819; (ii) eldest daughter Martha named her first daughter Elizabeth, as did tentatively identified son Edmund; and (iii) the last child that can be identified as the daughter of John's first wife was named Elizabeth, perhaps because her mother died giving birth to her.
