Charles does not appear in subsequent tax lists. The list of delinquents for the 1851 tax list has the following entry, "Lear, C. N., moved to Texas." Although we know Charles settled in Madison Co., AR, he may have migrated with his brother, William, who settled in Wood Co., TX. No deeds have been found showing Charles sold his land.

Charles married Nancy ADAMS on 12 Mar 1835 in Wayne County, Kentucky.¹ (Nancy ADAMS was born on 14 Nov 1814 in Wayne County, Kentucky ¹² and died on 28 Mar 1888 in Madison County, Arkansas ¹².)
