Fairnetta ANDERSON ¹

   Another name for Fairnetta was Adalina.

  Research Notes:

The family records of Zelda Villnave and Denise Ganly state that Fairnetta's full name was Fairnetta Adeline Anderson, aka Fanny, that she was born in 1852 or 1853, that she married James Robert Barnes in 1870, and that she died in 1939. In addition to naming the children of this marriage, their records also contain excerpts of interviews with Fanny and her husband. However, no sources are given that establish Fairnetta and Fanny were the same person. Note that Fanny's date of birth is not consistent with Fairnetta's census records, the marriage date of Fairnetta's parents, nor the fact Fairnetta was her parents' second child. Assuming the census records more closely approximate Fairnetta's year of birth, then she would have been no older than 14 when she married. These facts raise the question whether Fairnetta and the Fanny (Anderson) Barnes of the Villnave/Ganly records are really the same person. I would like to see more evidence before answering that question in the affirmative. ³
