Henry FULLER 1
Research Notes:
Kay Fuller Mitchell notes there are two candidates for this Henry: (1) Henry Fuller, born 1759, died 1813 in Russell County, Virginia, married Sally; and (2) Henry Salling Fuller, born 13 Feb 1766, died 3 Nov 1837, married 10 June 1801 in Person County, North Carolina to Anney Garrett. Notwithstanding the middle name of the latter, only the former fits the birth order set forth in the will of Henry Fuller (Sr.). In said will, Henry identifies his son Henry as his third son, which puts him between second son Peter and fourth son George. [The sons are numbered from John, who was referred to as his eldest son, indicating William was probably deceased.] Since Peter and George were born in 1753 and 1761, respectfully, Henry born 1759 must be the third son. Note that this Henry's will was witnessed by Abraham Fuller, his putative brother.
As to Henry Salling Fuller, query whether his middle name is documented? If it is, query whether his date of birth, apparently from a family bible, was correctly transcribed. If his date of birth could be shown to fall between Peter and George and his middle name was indeed Sallings, he would re-emerge as the preferred choice for this slot. In that event, Henry born 1759 would probably be assigned to Nehemiah, who is known to have had a son named Henry per a 1779 Caswell County deed. Abraham would then be his putative first cousin.
Details on the families of both of these Henrys are set forth in Kay's book. 2
