Robert RICHARDSON 2
- Born: 1825, Tennessee 2
- Marriage: Nancy Melissa SCRIVNER on 29 Sep 1842 in Franklin County, Illinois 1
Noted events in his life were:
1. Census: 1850, Franklin County, Illinois. 3
Dwelling 118, Family 121 Robt Richardson, age 25, male, farmer, $200 real property, born in Tennessee, cannot read or write Nancy Richardson, age 26, female, born in Tennessee, cannot read or write Selda Scrivner, age 11, female, born in Illinois Calvin Scrivner, age 2, male, born in Illinois Moses Richardson, age 1, male, born in Illinois
[Selda Scrivner would appear to Margaret Serilda Scrivner, daughter of John Scrivner, and thus a niece of Nancy Scrivner Richardson. Calvin could not be another child of John Scrivner, because he died in 1842. Nor does it seem likely he was a child of Eli Scrivner, at least if Eli was married to Harriet Clark, for she married her second husband, William Britton, on 21 Nov 1847. At this time, the identity of his parents is unknown. There is no sense in spinning various scenarios with so little to go on. See the Research Notes for John Scrivner and Eli Scrivner for further information on these issues.]
2. Census: 1860, Franklin County, Illinois. 4
Township 5 S, Range 4 E, Webbs Praire P. O. Dwelling 418, Family 418 Robert Richardson, age 35, male, farmer, $240 personal property, born in Tennessee Rebecca Allen, age 48, female, house keeping, born in Tennessee, cannot read or write Hostin Richardson, age 6, male, born in Illinois, attended school Samuel Richardson, age 4, female, born in Illinois James Richardson, age 3, male, born in Illinois Harrison Soaps, age 19, male, domestic farmer, born in Tennessee Nancy Soaps, age 17, female, domestic, born in Tennessee Eliza Soaps, age 16, female, domestic, born in Tennessee Robert Soaps, age 13, male, born in Tennessee
[Based on this enumeration, it would appear Robert's wife, Nancy, died after the birth of James and before 1860, perhaps while giving birth to Corrine. Note this census also supports the existence of another child in addition to those listed by Doris Scrivner Collier in her book, namely, Samuel, confusingly identified as a female in the census. Samuel is listed as a male in the 1870 census.]
Robert married Nancy Melissa SCRIVNER, daughter of John SCRIVNER and 1st Mrs. John Scrivner, on 29 Sep 1842 in Franklin County, Illinois.2 (Nancy Melissa SCRIVNER was born in 1824 in Smith County, Tennessee 2.)
