John SCRIVNER 2
General Notes: Per Doris Scrivner Collier's book: "John moved to IL prior to 1830. He served as a private in the Black Hawk War, Captain Bowyer's Co., Second Regiment, Mounted Volunteers; enlisted from Franklin Co., enrolled June 16, 1832." 2 Research Notes: The discovery of probate records for John, which named his heirs, and information from Sheldon Jones about the Clark family, has resulted in the following corrections to the account of John's family in Doris Scrivner Collier's book: (1) Eli is now listed as a probable child of Moses and Nancy (Henley) Scrivner; (2) Harriet Scrivner, who married William Britton, is now listed as Harriet Clark, presumed widow of Eli; (3) Nancy Scrivner, who married Robert Richardson, is now listed as John's daughter; and (4) Samantha Scrivner is no longer listed as a daughter. Noted events in his life were: 1. Census: 1830, Franklin County, Illinois. 5 2. Deed: 1839, Franklin County, Illinois. 6 3. State Census: 1840, Franklin County, Illinois. 7 4. Estate Administration: 1842-1845, Franklin County, Illinois. 3 John married 1st Mrs. John Scrivner in probably Smith County, Tennessee.2 John next married Elizabeth CRANE on 19 Nov 1835 in Franklin County, Illinois.2 John next married Delpha Turner UNKNOWN.2 (Delpha Turner UNKNOWN died on 21 Aug 1843.) |
