Joshua Hambleton [sic] [signed by Joshua Whitaker] and Hannah his wife were among the grantors of land that had been owned by Charles Hamilton, Dec'd, to the Trustees of The Methodist Episcopal Church. Deed: 1841, Wayne County, Kentucky. 5 Dated 3 May 1841, Recorded 15 Jul 1845, Bk J:68 Hannah Whitaker, along with husband Joshua, was one of the children of Hannah Hamilton living in Indiana who relinquished to their mother their interest in the land owned by their father, Charles Hamilton, at the time of his death. Hannah married Joshua WHITAKER on 2 Aug 1810 in Wayne County, Kentucky.1 (Joshua WHITAKER was born on 11 Apr 1783,7 died on 8 May 1863 in Morgan County, Indiana 7 and was buried in East Hill Cemetery, Morgan County, Indiana 7.)   Marriage Notes: "Whitaker, Joshua and Hannah Hambleton. Surety, Charles Hambleton. Bond dated 26 July, married 2 Aug 1810 by Elliot Jones." [In a footnote to the above marriage record, Bork notes that the Whitaker family, along with the Wheeler and Hoover families, were in Macoupin Co., IL around 1850's. As to Joshua and Hannah (Hamilton) Whitaker, that statement is incorrect.] 1
