Jasper's first appearance in the records of Wayne Co., KY is in the 1848 Tax List for the Upper District, where John Franklin and the widow of Elisha Franklin lived at the time. His entry immediately follows that of John, an indication he was John's son. Moreover, when John moved to the Lower District in 1850, Jasper made the same move as evidenced by the 1850 census.
