Austin FRANKLIN
(Abt 1804-After 1850) |
Austin FRANKLIN 1Research Notes: I have concluded Austin was the son of James because of his proximity to him in the tax lists and the 1830 census. In the 1825 tax list, James is the only possibility in the tax district where Austin makes his first appearance. In the 1830 census, James is the only possibility who appears on the same page as Austin. Also, James is the only one who married before his year of birth. Noted events in his life were: 1. Census: 1820, Wayne County, Kentucky. 4 2. Tax List: 1825-1829, Wayne County, Kentucky. 1 5 3. Census: 1830, Wayne County, Kentucky. 6 4. Tax List: 1830-1837, Wayne County, Kentucky. 5 5. Census: 1850, Brown County, Indiana. 3 Austin married Mary LAIR, daughter of Rev. James LEAR and Sarah HAMILTON. (Mary LAIR was born in 1805-1810 in Wayne County, Kentucky 7 and died about 1848 in Indiana 8.) |
