Thomas M. LEAR 1 3 4
General Notes: Thomas M. Lear has been listed as a child of John Lear, Jr. and his wife Jemima for two reasons: (1) when Thomas makes his first appearance on the Culpeper County, Virginia tax lists in 1794, presumably at or near the age of 21, he is listed in the same tax district as John Lear (Jr.), who at that time was the only Lear in Culpeper County old enough to be his father; and (2) Thomas named a son Jesse and named daughters Fanny and Levinah, all names of children of John Lear, Jr. (For tax list information, see Events for John Lear, Jr.) Thomas married Mary FAGAN on 15 Mar 1793.1 3 (Mary FAGAN was born on 14 Nov 1777 in Virginia 1 3 and died in 1865 in Marion County, Missouri 3.) |
