Nancy married John WILLIAMS on 24 Oct 1815 in Wayne County, Kentucky.1 (John WILLIAMS was born in 1790-1794 5 6 7.)

bullet  Marriage Notes:

"Williams, John and Nancy Hamilton. Surety, Charles Hambleton. Bond dated 16 October, married 24 October 1815 by James Lair."

[The records of Edna Stockton show Nancy's name as Nancy Davis Hamilton. The records of Allene Schnaiter, perhaps reasoning from Edna Stockton's records, show she was married to a Davis prior to her marriage to John Williams. Bork shows a marriage of John Davis and Nancy Hambleton-Hamilton on 4 Oct 1820. But, since this postdates the marriage of John Williams and Nancy Hamilton, it seems clear it is a different Nancy Hamilton who married John Davis. Perhaps Edna was not indicating an earlier marriage -- perhaps she had information that Nancy's middle name was indeed Davis.] 1 8 9 10

8 Family Records of Edna Stockton. Edna Stockton (1893-1992) was a descendant of Charles Hamilton and Hannah Henry as follows: James H. Hamilton and Hannah Francis > John Francis Hamilton and Mildred Lloyd Ferguson > James Edward Hamilton and Sarah E. Clodfelder > Dee Edna Hamilton who married Thomas Stockton. Besides her first hand knowledge of many Indiana descendants, which made her an invaluable resource for subsequent generations, she was probably also the source for much of the oral history about Charles Hamilton. Particularly valuable are certain letters she had in her possession that were written by Hannah Henry Hamilton and Mary "Polly" Hamilton Allen to her great-grandfather, which are revealing of their lives and times and which Edna shared with later Hamilton descendants.

9 Family Records of Allene W. Schnaiter. Allene is one of our most valued Hamilton researchers and the genesis for much Hamilton information. Her line of descent is Charles Hamilton and Hannah Henry > John Hamilton and Ellender Collett > William Hamilton and Serilda Dougherty > Perry Hamilton and Caroline Norman > Rebecca Jane Hamilton and William W. Davis > Carl Hamilton Davis and Leola Williams > Genevieve Allene Davis and Karl Wade White. Allene's postal address is 9907 Brandywine Circle, Austin, TX 78750. Her e-mail address is aws9907@aol.com.
