In the Proceedings of the Eighth Annual Session of the Survivors of the Battle of Stone's River, held at Kokomo, Indiana, January 2, 1908, there appears on page 38 a photograph and a biography of James K. Bowers, who at the time was the organization's President. There is also a photograph of his first wife, Zerua, then deceased, on page 25.
