Jim Rolff's book contains no information on the family of James Strong. My research has uncovered a few minor records for James, but no information about his family.

There is evidence of a James A. Strong in Wilson County, Tennessee, but it is unclear if this is the right James, particularly since some of the records, if they pertain to the same James, are as early as 1803, when the subject James was thought to still be in North Carolina. 2 3
