Joseph Stewart BARRY ¹

Since Joseph Stewart Barry was the first husband of Sarah Jane King and thus not my ancestor, my research regarding him prior to their marriage has been minimal. However, I believe he was the son of Richard Barry and Nancy Smith. His namesake was Richard's father, Joseph Stewart Barry (Sr.). Joseph married Sarah Jane KING, daughter of John KING and 1st Mrs. John King, on 29 Jan 1833 in Barren County, Kentucky.¹ (Sarah Jane KING was born about 1806 in Virginia ⁵ and died after 1880 in Vernon County, Missouri ⁶.)
